Correction of assessment year in tds challan

Dear Sir,
Kindly guide me how to do correction of assessment year in TDS challan, We have deposited our TDS for q-1 ,2013-14 through SBI bank. as per our challan copy assessment year of challan is 2014-15 but while checking on NSDL website assessment year is 2012-13 for same challan due to this we have received short payment notice.

You need to write a letter to your Jurisdictional TDS AO enclosing a photocopy of the challan. It should not be big issue since in challan correct AY is showing but in NSDL record wrong AY is reflecting. It is not your mistake. Simply submit the letter and get the copy of letter acknowledged.

As per CPC Communication dated 10.09.2014 a single challan can be used for payment of tax deducted at source for multiple financial years. Excess challan paid in any quarter can not only be used for payment in subsequent quarters of the same financial year but also for subsequent financial years also, if there is unconsumed amount in the challan.
