Correction in income tax database

12 March 2016 DEAR SIR / MADAM,
ONE OF MY CLIENT HAS APPLIED PAN CARD FOR CORRECTION OF HIS SURNAME ( FROM VISHWAKARMA TO SHARMA) IN NOV 15.
I GOT CORRECTED PAN CARD IN DEC 15 IN THE SURNAME OF SHARMA.
WHEN I M FILING HIS RETURN ON INCOME TAX SITE IT SHOWS OLD SURNAME. THEN I COMMUNICATE WITH TIN-NSDL.
THEY SAID PLS CONTACT WITH IT DEPT FOR THIS OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS UPTO ISSUING OF PAN CARD.
THEN I COMMUNICATE WITH IT DEPARTMENT (ask@incometaxindia.gov.in) FOR THAT MATTER THEY REPLIED PLS CONTACT YOUR ASSESSING OFFICER FOR THAT.
THEN I COMMUNICATE WITH AO HE SAID THAT WE CANT HELP YOU IN THIS MATTER WE CANNOT MAKE CORRECTIONS IN THE DATABASE.
PLS GUIDE ME FOR THIS MATTER

12 March 2016 1)Check out what was name shows in Challan 280,.May be it may shows updated name

2)Changes in TIN-FACILITATION centre will also updates IT records no other procedure to update name

13 March 2016 In such case your name is updated as per IT records,

Same will be shown in your latest form 26AS and etc records,,you may ignore other issues,

prepare incometax return and submit as per new name and your records may get updated once you filed return,
( i feel you are trying to fill return online which captures data from previous return filed)

So ignore all and file return as per new records as your name is updated properly as shown in challan 280
