If you need to file an income tax return for a past financial year, such as 2017-18, and have missed the deadline, you may be able to file through a condonation of delay. This process typically involves submitting a manual application to your jurisdiction's Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT). Once approved by the CIT, you can then file your Income Tax Return (ITR) online.
