Sir, Is it necessary for a company to announce the result of postal ballot at a general meeting held after completion of the postal ballot? Please quote with reference to the appropriate provisions of the COMPANIES ACT,1956.
There is no specific provision in the Act which requires the announcement of the result of postal ballot at a general meeting held after completion of the postal ballat. However as a good secretarial practice, the resolutions passed by postal ballot should be recorded at the next General meeting to ensure its authenticity.
While recording the minutes of the general Meeting, it must be ensured that the whole of the resolution passed by postal ballot finds place in the minutes of the general meeting.
