Benefits:
1) Saves your 6 months if you clear both groups.
2) Inter group mark adjustment. Say you score 147 in Group I and 153 in Group II. You will pass both groups in total provided you have minimum 40 in each subject.

there are 8 exam of 100 each
total number 8*100=800
40% of it = 320
and 50% of it = 400
requerment is minimum 40% in each subject
and 50% of aggregate
If its 400 in each group then Minimum marks required to pass is 400 in aggregate with a minimum of 40 in each subject.
Suppose you get 190 in 1 group and 210 in other group and 40 or more in each subject. Appearing in both group you will clear both group as total of both group is 400 i.e., 50%. Had you appeared only group 1 you would fail having less than 50% in aggregate even thou you score 40 or more in each paper. Hope its clear now.
