Claiming of tds deducted in singapore

This query is : Resolved

01 May 2012 We are an Indian training proprietorship. in march have conducted training for a firm in Singapore. TAx has been deducted and paid to in Singapore. We have received the scanned copy of the payment. How do we claim the TDS in India. this is the only assignment done by us so far. The amount deducted is S$600.

02 May 2012 You need to check the double taxation avoidance agreement between Singapore and India. The tax paid $600 ( at appropriate conversion rate) and the tax payable if it is taxed in India..... You will get a credit for $600 with average rate of tax. I am trying to tell you the underlying principle. You need to take the help of a person who knows DTAA.
