Cin number of e-challan

28 July 2013 I made a e-payment of tax on Sunday 28/7/2013 at ICICI Bank. The Bank generated the challan with CIN Number (BSR Code) + Date of Tender as 28/07/2013 and serial number.

When checking the statement I find that bank has debited my account as of date 29/7/2013.

While filing return, should I be changing the tender date of the challan that bank generated online and supplied me. When I generate the challan it show me the date of 28/07/2013 only in challan even if I generate it online after logging in. Will the date change after it is uploaded at NSDL?

28 July 2013 You have to take the date mentioned in the challan only. since the payment is made on sunday bank may update the same on next day. so take only challan date

29 July 2013 Please check form 26AS. The date mentioned therein may be used in the ITR.

Form 26AS as well as OLTAS showed the date of 28/07/2013 and I used that in the ITR. I also got call from ICICI bank that all transaction done after office hr on saturday and on sunday are debited to the account value date monday. For income tax they have a time limit T+1 working day so Saturday and Sunday are credited to income tax and uploaded on Monday. If Monday is RTGS holiday then Tuesday. Challan tender date in the CIN is what Income Tax accepts as payment having duly been made by assessee.
