change of name of comp. in tally

13 January 2010 how to change the name of company in tally..
i have changed by altering the company information but it is showing as duplicate entry...

13 January 2010 You want to change company name or Ledger name

for changing company name - Go to company info and alter - but before that ensure no other company having that same name

14 January 2010 i did that but it is showing as "duplicate entry - press any key" and there is no other company with that name...

14 January 2010 first cut all tally date in your data file ok then paste on desktop creating new folder ok
afterthan copy your tally which you have to change their name and paste into your tally file folder data ok
after all go to company info alter and change it then copy all the tally folder from desktop newfolder instead of which you have take for changes.
(to avoid unfortune deleting you have to create tally back up folder in any drive and with date on name of folder you can also put in that backup folder instead of desktop which i earlier suggested its advantage is if you delete wrong file,there will be backup which you help)
problem will be solved definitly. ok
