12 February 2013 what is the procedure for change in residential status and where to submit the application?
what are the documents to be submitted alonwith the application?

change of residential status for what..income tax?

you just have to mention in the IT Return that you file...

no separate application is required...

12 February 2013 The fact is that a refund in name of the assessee is pending for 2 years now and on application for the same,ITO told that the residentail status of the assesee is stil an NRO
which has to be changed in records

12 February 2013 But there is no separate application for this change....apply for the change in the PAN details by filling up form 49A

The ITO(Aaykar Bhavan) told me that i have to make a fresh application for such change and submit it to ITO(INT-TAX) which is at Scindia house in mumbai whereas the Jurisdiction on income tax site is Aaykar Bhavan.

12 February 2013 yes...so if the jurisdicaiot is aaykar, then just apply for the change in the pan details and it should be done...

i dont think this is a case of scindia house....if the juridiction is under aaykar, then it should remain so.
