Change in name of company with service tax dept

31 January 2015 Hello there

Our company's name has changed now we want to amend it with service tax department so my question is, whether we have to surrender our ST-2 and apply for new Service tax registration certificate or only amendment in form ST-1 is sufficient ??
Pls answer in details with wording of act.

31 January 2015 Pls make application through ST1 for amendment only
Be informed that change name in PAN before application for amendment to change name in ST department.
