Challenge service provider

20 September 2012 For ex there is a cable service provider in my area...every month he raises a bill with service tax...but when I carefully study I find that on the invoice there is no mention of service tax registration no. So can we challenge him to produce his returns if he is actually depositing to the govt.

20 September 2012 You cam ask him to provide copy of Registration Certificate and copy of deposit challan and also the range where he is registered. If he provides this, you can get relevant details by putting an application under RTI from concerned Service Tax Range.
