We bought a genset in the name company, that gen set we are installing at our MDs residency, whether we can avail the cenvat cr. please suggest

17 June 2014 You can not avail the cenvat credit on genset. The inputs, input services and capital goods should be in the related to the manufacturing activity.

19 June 2014 you cannot take cenvat credit on genset due to it is not the input goods and not use of capital goods use for mfg. of goods .
