Central excise complinace on removal of capital goods

26 May 2010 We are planning to send some capital goods for repairs outside the factory. The same capital goods were procured one year back and we also availed cenvat credit on same.
Need guidance on compliance under central excise for removal of capital goods for repair which will be returned back within one month.

Whether we are required to issue central excise invoice at the time of removal of thee\ capital goods.

Pls mention relevant rules/ notification. Etc.

26 May 2010 Refer Rule 4(5)(a) of Central Excise to send Input or Capital goods for Job-work outside the factory on Job-work challan.
Challan is Trplicate available in market. Orignal+ Duplicate needs to be send with material, Triplicate is office copy to retain for Excise Records. Maintain Job-work Register (available in market) to make entries after sending. Please note that time limit to receive the same material is 180 days only. After Repair, ask Job-worker to sent the material with Duplicate (Green) challan. Receive and account in Job-work Register. Please note that this record is very important for EA-2000 Audit purpose.
