in exams is it ok if we quote the case laws alone or is it necessary to explain on it?

Quoting case law will fetch you good marks. If descriptive question then you need to explain case law with ref to the question otherwise not.

Yes,quoting case law will give good impression on examinor.though it is not practicable to remember all sections ---try to remember atleast some important case laws and sections
