24 September 2014 Dear all,
Please advice on the following matter.
I am in CA Final and want to enter into practice. But after several attempts not able to clear remaining group. Now can I start my own practice as a tax consultant? Except Auditing, what other services does a tax consultant provide? Whether it will generate good amount of money although some period is required for a new firm to get established.

24 September 2014 well that depends on your level of knowledge in taxation matters. Dont forget that a major part of revenues in tax practice in initial years come from tax audits which require CA qualification.

27 September 2014 I would suggest you to focus on completion of your CA qualification. Tax consultancy is a very good and paying career option provided you have good knowledge base and experience. I believe with CA qualification you'll be able to deliver in a better manner.

I would suggest u to figure out the mistakes you have committed during exam writing and remove them. With slight change in your preparation method you'll be able to do well in coming attempts. I would also suggest you to refer my student articles in order to get some idea about preparation strategy.
