24 August 2011 If holding company sells shares of wholly owned subsidiary company to one of its wholly owned subsidary company, what will be the capital gain tax impact ??
Please advise .....

24 August 2011 The shares held by H in S1 is a capital asset for H

According to Section 47(iv), transfer of shares in S1....a capital asset, to wholly owned subsidiary Company S is not treated as transfer.

There will be no capital gain in the absence of transfer.
