29 July 2012 Does the term "substantial interest" have different meanings in different contexts?

what is the method & rate of capital gains tax on ZCB,debentures,units other than equity oriented fund if these are:
1.unlisted
2not sold thru recognised stock exchange(rse)
3.sold thru rse?

29 July 2012 Different Contexts may be in relation to the assessee, who is popularly told as a person in the Act and the person may be Individual, Firm or a Company, or any of his relative.

The context may be in relation to the entity also, in which the person holds any interest.

In the Act the term "substantial interest" has been explained/ defined by providing suitable/applicable explanation in context to the particular sections and the meaning will apply according to the context.
