Can PAN of HUF used for 24Q returns

21 February 2011 An Individual working as an employee of an Organisation submitted his PAN having fourth letter "H" which is issued to HUFs. He claims that he has that PAN and his auditor advised him to submit the same PAN to his employer. Can an Individual submit PAN to his employer which was issued not on his individual status. Kindly advise me

21 February 2011 No. Form 24Q can not be filed with PAN of HUF. PAN should be in the name of that individual only.

21 February 2011 right.. salary income would be of that individual & not his HUF.
so the individual's PAN is required & not his HUF's
so if the PAN is of his HUF, its improper if mentioned in 24Q

21 February 2011 Also obtain the date of birth of employee in order to verify the PAN of the employee before filing of TDS Return.
