Can ca do tax audit even if firm regist. is pending

08 May 2012 Hello,

I already got my membership no. & also hold COP but my partnership registration is under process so Can i do tax audit in my individual capacity even if I don't have firm registration no.

08 May 2012 Yes. (The risk is at the time of filing bank empanelment form, whether practising in individual...... you need to click YES. For some partners this is regarded as negative points by some of the BANKS)

08 May 2012 Yes. But as per the new guidelines, you need to mention the FRN on every certificate you sign. Tax Audit report is also a type of certificate. You can do one thing, complete the audit but wait for printing of report. When you receive FRN, then you can proceed with the same.

08 May 2012 Not for individual. It is for CA signing for and on behalf of TRADE NAME (Firm or Proprietor). Sign it as per the individual name appearing in the COP.

08 May 2012 Thats why i have mentioned that if the person has applied for FRN, he will be signing on behalf of the Firm only. So better he should wait for FRN of the Firm. If he wishes to practice individually then no problem, but from the query it seems that he has applied for the Firm Registration.

08 May 2012 Yes Dear, you have applied for FRN. But in the mean time you want to sign the TAX audit report. So I told you the provision. If you are ready to wait till FRN comes.. well and good.
