Can an engineer become trp(tax return preparer)

30 July 2012 As per Notification Number S.O. 2039(E) dated 28th November 2006:

3. Educational qualification for Tax Return Preparers.

Any individual who holds a graduation degree from a recognized Indian University in the fields of Business Administration or Management or Commerce or Economics or Law or Mathematics or Statistics shall be eligible to act as Tax Return Preparer.

I am confused , whether an B.E (Engineer) can become TRP or not.

31 July 2012 The notification contains the word "in the field of" . As I know BE is that degree which can be done by Maths Students only.
It has tremendous application of mathematics. Without
the numerical, geometric, algebraic expressions and the sign of +, -, X, /, = etc Engineering or BE is not possible.

So, it can easily be argued that BE is a degree of Graduation in the field of Mathematics.
