Ca director of a company

This query is : Resolved

06 May 2014 a CA doing job can he also be a director of a company

06 May 2014 Yes, but remember he should not be a full time director in the company.

06 May 2014 But if he is appointed in the same company in which he is employed then it is possible.

06 May 2014 agreed with sandep's view...........

06 May 2014 disagreed with all...only COP holders have the restriction on being director simplictor. rest of the CAs (job holding CAs) can practically do anything.

06 May 2014 But Nilhil if a CA is working in company A then how can he become director in Company X, Y or X??

06 May 2014 that depends on the employment contract. there are hundreds of directors who are on board of companies (included listed ones) but are on payrolls of some other company. The matter of fact is ICAI act doesn't restrict non-practicing CAs to hold
directorship - executive or non-executive.

the Companies act restrict only Managing directors to hold MD position at more than one company without certain approvals...

06 May 2014 But can he/she b full time Director? I think as per ur case he/she can only b part time? Is i m ri8?

06 May 2014 as said for MD there are restrictions, even that is manageable by following prescribed procedure. Except for that there are several executive directors who hold executive directorships are multiple places.

06 May 2014 If u dont mind, can u send me a link for that? I wana confirm myself.

06 May 2014 link for what?? ??????
