C.A. as Insurance agent

Hi I am CA, cleared in Nov 2007.I have been working as Insurance agent from August 2007. Now I have a doubt that can I, as a CA, continue my agency of insurance or not? Whether professional etics is applicable? Or if I want to continue my agency, then Can I get membership number or COP?

I want to do job.But my main question is whether Chartered Accountant can become Insurance agent? Is it allowed as per Professional Ethics?

THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN GETTING MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ,BUT TO DO PRACTICE YOU SHOULD NOT WORK AS INSURANCE AGENT

BUT IF YOU ARE IN JOB AND DO NOT OFFICIALLY DECLARE YOUR OTHER OCCUPATIONS LIKE INSURANCE, THERE IS NO PROBLEM.
I FIND A FEW C.As taking up such jobs in the name of their spouses or mother or father or sister or brother.
if possible in your case, do that. then there will be no MENTAL botheration of a clash of professinal and personl interest.
