Can you tell me that whether the bsr code provided by bank is different when we deposit tds challan no.281 and through e-payment. I found that bsr code is different when i deposit the cheque with challan 281 and E-payment.

23 April 2009 The composition of CIN in case of payment through e - payment remains same remains same comprising BSR Code date and serial no, However the BSR code in case of same bank may change due to different branch in case of e payment and physical deposit. Hope this clarifies the matter.

23 April 2009 Yes, it will be different. In physical challan we deposit the amount in branch. But in e payment we paid this to specific branch of the selected bank.

Generally this will is common to selective banks. It can be central database branch or registered office branch of the bank.
