I have cleard Final First Group in erstwhile old sylabus. I shall appear in May 2011 for Final 2nd group.

Please let me know the procedure of shifting from final old to Final New Sylabus.

Please let me also know if the institute will compulsory allot me new Study material at the time of enrolling for new sylabus or should i buy the same from the Sale Counter of the institute.

what a disadvantage for PCC students as they have to do 3 and half yrs articleship. It is that only for those people who have registered during that 2 to 3 yrs i.e. for PCC have to do half yrs article ship extra and other i.e PE 2 as well as IPCC students are required to do only 3 yrs.
Dont u think it is unfair with PCC students.
Institute has to surely think on this matter..

What is the accounting treatment if a company discounts its bills (i.e. debtors) with bank, with recourse i.e. the company has a liability to pay money to the bank in case the debtor fails to pay the bank.

Issue involved:
Should the treatment involve knocking off the debtors from books against the amount received from bank and a contingent liability should be recognised
or
should we continue to keep debtors in books and also recognise a corresponding liability of bank.

Please provide suggestion in the light of either indian GAAP or IFRS
