What is present stamp duty rate for share transfer form.

I was allotted shares of my company in lieu of vested stock options at a certain price. In order to buy the shares I was given a loan by an Employee Welfare Trust and the shares alloted were issues with me as the first owner and the Employee welfate trust as second owner.

After the loan was repaid, the name of the Employee Welfare trust was removed by notung this as a transfer to my name in the Memorandum of Transfers in the physical share certificates.

The FMV at the time of this transfer was more than the original exercise and issue price of the shares.

Does this difference qualify as "Income from other sources" or not.

My contention is that shares were in my name all the time so it is not an income if the share price has appreciated in the meanwhile till I dispose of the shares. What section of various Acts can I use to substanitate my claim.

What does PAAO means in IEPF status

Dear Sir,

Should I invest in the American stock market as well apart from the Indian stock market for diversifying my portfolio for a long-term investment horizon, or should I only invest in India?

I have been invested approximately one lakh rupees in "LANCO Infratech Co. Ltd" in 2018 September and unfortunately the Shares been delisted from both NSE and BSE later in the same month. My purchase was Rs. 5.00 and at the last traded price was forty two paise only (Rs.0.42).
The same experienced in the case of LEEL Electricals (Former Lloyd Electrcal) the share price have been jumped down from the level of Rs.40 to around two rupees (Rs.2.50) then been delisted.
I have invested around twentyfour thousands rupees in LEEL.
Both the companies shares not been trading in the BSE or NSE at present.

So the last traded holding price are :
LANCO infra 20,000 x Rs.0.42 = Rs.8400/- (buoght price 20000x Rs.5 = 1 lakh )
LEEL Elect 600 x Rs.2.50 = Rs.1500/- (buoght price 600x Rs.40 = 24000/- )
So whether I could incorporate my investment amount of Rs.1.24 lakhs by showing against the last traded price to 8400+ 1500 = Rs.9900/-
I mean whether I could incorporate in my ITR a loss of 124000 - 9900 = 114100/- (A loss of one lakh fourteen thousands one hundred rupees only)

Please solve my below doubts.
1. Share Merge : how to treat share merge while file income tax return and their calculation price of bought.
I have tata BSL share qtty 70 bought @ Rs. 28/-which i bought in the year 2018 now from December 1, 2021 tata BSL steel share merged in Tata Steel , hence they are allotted to me tata steel share qtty 4.
2. share of split IRCTC i have 4 share before split bought @ Rs, 1450/- after split i have got 16 share extra and total share 20 nos.

I AM UNABLE TO FIND A GOOD EXAMPLE ON THE INTERNET, WHICH CONSIDERS ALL THE ABOVE PARAMETERS. IT SEEMS NOBODY IS CLEAR ON THESE.

Which trading platform is suitable for a person who wants to invest in stock market shares in India for a long-term basis for about 5 years? Is HDFC Securities a good platform considering its high brokerage charges?

Also I am not aware what is the total amount we need to pay as brokerage including taxes.

Please help me in this matter.

My two sisters have decided to gift shares jointly held by them with my mother. Mother expired two years ago.
What is the procedure to get the shares transferred in my name..

Dear Sir,

If I am having around Rs. 5 - 10 lacs in my saving bank account then is it advisable to transfer it to a Bank Fixed deposit whose interest rates are very low or should I invest it to a good Debt Mutual fund to earn higher interest than Fixed deposit.

Is Debt Mutual fund safe to invest.

Please advise.
