Whether set-off of excise will be available under rule of central excise rule or under cenvat credit ??? Under which rule set-off will get

Is excise applicable on sale of any type of scrap, raised by under construction factory.
scrap is not raised from manufacturing process.

we wanted to sell our product to a solar water heater unit, they are saying that excise duty is exempted, what are the steps to be taken to make the sales without imposing the duty?

Company A is registered with Central Excise as a Manufacturing unit. A, it self, is willing start to work as a trader. Is it required to get a separate registration?? Or is there any clause in Excise for the same?
