this co. purchase the jewellery from manufacturer & give a tag of its brand name Z.
Does ABC Pvt. Ltd. is liable to excise duty of @ 1% as provided in this budget

24 March 2011 Any person manufacturing OR selling under a brand is covered by the notification NT 1/1.3.2011

There is no ambiguity regarding the coverage of the person selling under a brand. The definition given in the explanation is very wide definition as it stand on this day.
