24 February 2017 How to verify a taxi bill..bill amounted 4000rupees and no service taxation is indicated in invoice..what are mandatory compliance on taxi bill?

24 February 2017 In case of taxi bill, if the service recipient is pvt ltd. company, it needs to pay service tax under reverse charge mechanism. In case, the service recipient is other than company, the service tax will be charged by the service provider subject to service tax laws and exemption limit provided under ST Laws. You need to check whether company has paid service tax under reverse charge or not. You have also to check whether proper authorisation is there on the bill and the genuinity of the bill also to be checked. you also cross check whether the person who has availed taxi service has actually traveled that city or town or not.

24 February 2017 Thank you sir..for audit point of view..Sir I m employee of public Ltd company..how to check genuinety of taxi bill..if bill amounted 4000 and no St is charged...is it okay?

24 February 2017 Yes.. the bill might not have service tax charged on it. It is okay
