i would like to understand the implication of mega cabs case on service tax, whether it applies to departmental office asking to produce books when ST2 is surrendered. kindly enlighten me

yes, deptt may ask the detail for the period in which you have the service tax number and you have to provide all detail to deptt.

sir but the judgement says that service tax is a self assessment tax
