Form No. 112 is used for taking consent from your principal (employer) for pursuing any other course or engaging in any other activity while undergoing articleship. Here’s how you should approach this situation:
### Steps to Fill Form No. 112:
1. **Reason for Form 112:** - Since you are planning to switch your graduation from regular mode to external mode, you will need to inform your principal about this change.
2. **Timing:** - You should fill up Form No. 112 and take consent from your principal before making the switch to external mode in your graduation. It’s important to do this in advance to comply with ICAI regulations.
3. **Content of Form 112:** - Form No. 112 typically includes details such as: - Your personal information (name, registration number, etc.) - Details of the course you intend to pursue externally (in this case, your graduation) - Reason for pursuing the course externally - Duration of the course - Consent sought from the principal
4. **Submission:** - After filling up the form, submit it to your principal for their consent. They will review and sign the form if they agree to your plan of switching to external mode for your graduation.
5. **ICAI Regulations:** - Ensure that your decision to switch to external mode complies with the regulations set forth by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Generally, pursuing external courses or activities is permitted during articleship, but it requires prior consent from your principal.
### Conclusion:
Yes, you should fill up Form No. 112 and take consent from your principal before switching your graduation to external mode. This ensures that you are compliant with ICAI regulations and have official approval from your principal for pursuing your studies in the chosen mode. If you have any doubts or need further clarification, consult with your articleship principal or a senior colleague for guidance.
