14 July 2024 Congratulations on clearing IPCC Group 1! Regarding the leave policy during articleship as per the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), here are the general guidelines:

### Leaves During Articleship:

1. **Total Leaves Allowed:**
- According to ICAI regulations, you are entitled to a maximum of 156 leaves during the entire period of 3 years of articleship.

2. **Types of Leaves:**
- Leaves are categorized into different types such as:
- Casual Leaves (CL)
- Medical Leaves (ML)
- Exam Leaves (EL)
- Restricted Holidays (RH)

3. **Leave Counting:**
- The leaves taken for appearing in exams (like IPCC Group 2) are typically considered as Exam Leaves (EL) and are generally not deducted from your overall leave entitlement. This means they are not counted towards your 156 leaves.

4. **Approval and Documentation:**
- It's important to obtain approval from your principal or employer for any leave taken. Maintain proper documentation for leaves, especially medical leaves, which may require supporting medical certificates.

### Practical Considerations:

- **Balance Leave Usage:** Manage your leaves judiciously throughout your articleship to ensure you have sufficient leave balance for necessary situations like illness, exams, and personal reasons.

- **Communication:** Always communicate leave requests in advance and follow the firm's policies regarding leave approval and documentation.

### Conclusion:

As you progress through your articleship, it's beneficial to familiarize yourself with the specific leave policies and procedures of your articleship firm or organization. This will help you effectively manage your leaves while fulfilling the requirements and responsibilities of your articleship training. If you have specific concerns or need clarification, consulting with your articleship principal or a senior colleague can provide further guidance tailored to your situation.
