03 May 2008 I m doing articleship from a small firm..
can any one tell how much it will effect my carrier.. as my friends are doing articleship from top firms.. but big firms are not allowing to attend cochings i opt for a small firm.. but now im worring about my decision..

U r doing ur articleship from a small firm.and wanted to know about the future benefit/loss from the same

Let me share my experience with u. If u r doing articleship from a small firm u can do different type of work but in a big firms u cannot do misc type of work.
In a small firm u will not get a big name, but u will get personal attention of ur boss.
In a big firm, during the whole period of ur artcleship, u will not finalise any audit assignment, u will continue to work like a junior assistant, but in a small firm if u r working sincerely, u will be the senior most in ur firm after ur boss in the last year of ur training.
U can get the name of big firm after qualifying also by joining a big firm.

My self is Sandeep Aggarwal. I m in the last year of my artcleship and i have completed my CA course and i m the senior most in my small firm after my boss and i m starting and finalising the internal and statutory audit as well. i have learned a lot during my 3 years, ur freinds working in big firms cannot learn so much in 6 years.

So my suggestion to u is, dont get confused. work sincerely.
