(Querist)
09 October 2009 One of my friend is in third year of articleship and has been receiving his stipend by way of cash deposit in his bank account made by the office peon or himself

The querry is whether he can receive his stipend in the same manner or he needs to get a cheque from the employer's account.

If the procedure followed so far was wrong how to rectify it

10 October 2009 The stipend under the regulation shall be paid by the principal to the articled assistant
either (a) by a crossed account payee cheque every month against a stamped receipt to be
obtained from the articled assistant; or (b) by depositing the amount every month in an
account opened by the articled assistant in his own name with a branch of the bank to be
specified by the principal.
