Sir,
In the Notification No 58/08 the items mentioned in notification no 2/08 10% is applicable
thus its meaning generla ED is 10%
it is corect or not

Notf No.2/2008-Central Excise, dated the 1st March, 2008
In the said notification, in the Table, in column (3), -
(i) for the entry “14%”, wherever it occurs except for the entry occurring against S. No. 14, 16 and 18, the entry “10%” shall be substituted;
(ii) for the entry “14% + Rs.10,000 per chassis”, wherever it occurs, the entry “10% + Rs.10,000 per chassis” shall be substituted.
Here reduced rate of duty means BASIC Ex duty.

As per this now our Basic Excise Duty is 10% on all items insted of 14%
is this assumption is right or not
