Applicabilty of excise on cotton fabric printing

28 January 2014 Our process is to buy plain cotton fabric and print designs over them, I want to ask that will this amount to excisable goods.

If so than under which heading and at what rate will it be dutiable????

28 January 2014 But sir, printed cotton fabric is covered under heading 5205,5206,5207. so i think it is excisable. But, not sure whether it is dutiable or not.

From where we can see the applicable excise duty rates..??..As rates given in tariff are amended by various notifications, so is there any source from where we can see prevailing excise rates as per the stage of processing.
