24 August 2007 We are a development Company and we are developing a commercial mall. wether we are liable to pay service tax. We are paying the service tax to our construction contract.

24 August 2007 In my opinion it should come under service tax perview, but which type of development ? if its engineering related then it will come under consulting engineering service.

24 August 2007 We purchased a land and give contract to a contractor for constructin of mall on it . we are paying service tax to him on construction cost. Now my question is that wether I have to charge service tax from my coustomer who will purchase shop from us.

24 August 2007 It is ulimately sale not service, after tranfer of asset no question about service tax. If its ultimate transfer of your asset then no service tax other wise you have to pay.
