Dear Experts
I have a client and he is doing fabrication job work for a Branded Readymade Garments Firm.
Now I would like to know that, Is service Tax applicable him or not. Because company is deduction TDS on my client u/s 194c (Contractior/sub-contractor)
His receipts for the last year is more than Rs. 60 Lacs.

No need to pay service tax. Your activity are exempt from service tax vide notification no. 25/2012.

But in this regard principal company for whom my client is doing job work were paying excise duty. Now excise duty is exempted by government.
Is it sure that service tax is not applicable on my client.

if you are doing any activity for the manufacturer who pay excise duty on his final product then no requirement of charge service tax on job work done by you.
