Applicability of service tax

28 January 2013 Hello friends
i would like to know whether my client would be liable to service tax or not ??
my client is into business of software development and has taken service tax no..now he is giving tuition regarding software so whether is he liable t pay service tax on his tuition fees or not

Yes, your client is liable to pay service tax on tution fee. why is there any confusion on this ?

28 January 2013 thanks but i have confusiion regarding one thing ie my service tax no. is fro software devpt n not fro tuition ,...so am i liale or not question arise

28 January 2013 Ok,

You may have to apply for registration within 30 days of new service started and to get added new service category under same Service Tax Code.

28 January 2013 but my limit is only 3 lakhs last year so i think till limit is not exceedeed ther is no need to register ,...is it ..correct me if i am wrong ...Thanks fro great help
