Can a private limited company having paid up share capital is required to prepare Cash Flow Statement.

small company, one person company and dormant company are not required to prepare CFS. Check status of your company, if it falls under these categories, then it is not required to prepare Cash flow statement.

Please refer the proviso of Sec.2(40) of the Companies Act, 2013, Cash Flow Statement is not applicable for One Person Company, Small Company, Dormant company and a private company which is a start up company. For this purpose, small company is a private company having paid up capital not exceeding 50 lacs or turnover not exceeding 2 cr. Furthermore, a holding company, subsidiary company and Sec.8 company are not small companies as per the provision of Sec. 2(85).
