Advanced management accounting - ca final costing

04 March 2012 Dear Sir,

I have done my CA Final tution of Costing in the batch of May'09. But after that due to an incident I wasn't able to give my exams.

What would you suggest me. Should I take a new tution as whether there might be some changes in the syllabus of Costing. I am not interested in taking any new tuition, so can you please help me by saying what are the major amendments after May'09. Or whether there are no amendments. I came to hear that there are some changes in Standard Costing (Fixed Overhead variances). Please say me in detail.

05 March 2012 well in new course there are few changes in the syllabus.
1)chapters named "Hypothesis" and "Time Series" (I dont know the exact names) are removed from syllabus from O.R. portion are removed through notification by institute.

2) Module is redesigned a bit by the institute. Hovever there is no change in content except a short summary of chapter is given at the beginning of each chapter.

So according to me its not at all necessary to jion tutions again.

Morever there is no change in chapter standard costing.

Also i would suggest you to purchase practice manual of costing issued by institute.

A word of caution.. Institute has started asking twisted sum from O.R. So please be sure that you are conceptually clear with concepts of O.R. chapters Otherwise you wont be able to score in O.R.(SEE SUM OF ASSIGNMENT IN MAY 2011 PAPER AND SUM OF PERT/CPM AND SIMPLEX IN NOV 2011 PAPER )
