addition of service tax in bill of invoice

02 July 2011 Sir, i want to know that if there is any circular or law regaurding applicability of service tax in invoice raise to municipal corporation ?

any municipal corporation can refuse to receive service tax invoice ? please suggest me how to deal with this ?

05 July 2011 You should ask the basis on which they are seeking exemption from service tax.

There is no general exemption under service tax on rendering services to municipal corporation. However, a particular service may be exempt which needs to be looked into.
