21 February 2014 What is meaning of called up share capital?

23 February 2014 equity shares can be issued in a manner that the the applicant is not required to pay the whole amount in one go and can pay instalments as and when the company requests. In such case the amount called up by the company is called "Called Up Share Capital"

For eg:

the face value is Rs 10, amount paid on application is Rs 2 and first call is Rs 2. In such a case, after first call, Called Up Share Capital Shall be Rs 4
