20 August 2008 Plese Help i am working in Sarva shiksha abhiyan as Asst accountant my query is hear advance amount will be taken for organising workshops meetings etc its ok i am taking in cash book as adv in the name of who will take adv on date when they will take adv again after 10 days they will give the details of adv taken then they tell strike out name how shuld i must enter in the cash book and what head i must debit on adv taken and when they will give details plz help give detail entery as example

20 August 2008 The entries may be explained by taking an example. Say, Mr. X has taken an advance of Rs. 10000 for expenses on 20.08.2008 and submitted the account on 26.08.2008 with expenses of rs 500 spent on conveyance and Rs 6000 for Miscellaneous Expenses and returned balance cash of Rs 3500. Then entries will be as per under:

On 20.08.2008

Mr X-Advance for Workshop Dr 10000.00
To Cash 10000.00

On 26.08.2008

Conveyance Dr 500.00
Misc Expenses Dr 6000.00
Cash Dr 3500.00
To Mr X-Advance for Workshop 10000.00
