94j tds was wrongly paid under 94c

30 April 2012 Dear Friends,

TDS on prof fees was wrogly paid under 94C in the bank in Jan -11. Is there anyway to rectify the same now.

Pl advice. thx for your help.

30 April 2012 You can write a letter to your TDS AO for correction in challan data along with a copy of the said challan.

Sub: Request for Correction and/or rectification of Section in TDS challan.

Sir,

This is to inform you that we had deducted TDS of Rs 1000/- (One Thousand Only) u/s 194J pertaining to the month of March’2010 but at the time of online payment of the said amount the section was wrongly selected as 194C instead of 194J.

We, therefore, request you to kindly make the necessary correction in your records. We are also enclosing a photocopy of the said challan.

We regret for our inadvertent mistake.
