80C & Income from house loan Deductions

17 February 2011 Dear Sir we have a housing loan on me & my brothers joint name and regular installment are paid by my brothers a/c can i get rebate in income tax if i pay lumsup amount of 50000/- by cheque from my a/c in that amount principal & intrest are both included.if i get rebate how much amount i can claim in rebate. and in which head.

17 February 2011 yes.if house & housing loan both are in joint name you can also claim rebate of interest on housing loan
