03 April 2018 IS college tution fee (BBA 2nd sem) of Rs.2.30 lacs paid for a major (19years) daughter available for exemption u/s 80C ??

03 April 2018 As per section 80C (2) (xvii) read with section 80C (4) (a) (i) tuition fee paid by an individual for self or for the wife or husband and any child (minor or major not specified) is eligible.

03 April 2018 Yes, very much eligible for deduction. Doesnt matter whether the Student is minor or major

04 April 2018 And If tution fees is paid for studies in a Foreign university thru Bank loan and that Bank loan is repaid in the same financial year, then also exmption of 80C can be availed ??

As per Sec 80C - Tuition Fess...
Tuition fees (excluding development fees, donations, etc.) paid by an individual to any university, college, school or other educational institution situated in India, for full time education of any 2 of his/her children.

As per the above point we can't avail the deduction if we paid 'OUTSIDE INDIA"
