11 August 2012 can we claim son's mba fee deduction u/s 80c when education loan is taken(first year)
fee paid by bank

11 August 2012 Yes. tuition fees for MBA course can be claimed under 80C, paying by loan will not restrict your eligibility. since that loan also need to pay by you only. also Sec.80E allows only interest on housing loan

11 August 2012 i did claim deduction for int. on education loan u/s 80E on Son's A/c

n tution fee in father's A/c u/s 80c

11 August 2012 If u are paying the fees than u can claim only tution fees paid( and not donation, hostel charges other exp etc) as deduction u/s 80c and the interest on loan u/s 80e., provided ur son is a regular student in any indian college or university and has not opted for distance education.

12 August 2012 Assuming that your son is studying MBA full time in a Uiversity/school located in India , you can claim the tuition fees paid for him under section 80C.

And if you have taken an education loan, you can claim the interest paid on such loan as well.
