25 September 2008 SIR, I HAVE SPENT 80000/- FOR MY FATHER MEIDCAL TREATMENT ( HEART PROBLEM) PAID ON APRIL-2008. BUT MY HAS EXPIRED ON THE SAME MONTH. THEY HAVE GIVEN MEDICAL BILLS/DEATH CERTIFICATE AND ALL. I WANT TO KNOW CAN I CLAIM THE SAME FOR MY INCOME TAX? PLS. SUGGEST.

25 September 2008 yes u can claim, but only up to Rs. 40000 and extended to Rs. 60000 if he was senior citizen under section 80 DDB. as u said he was heart patient so its specified under the rules...
