If you've submitted a 26B form online for a tax refund and need to submit documents to your Assessing Officer (AO), you have several options. You can try uploading them via the 'e-Proceeding' section on the incometax.gov.in portal, emailing them if an official address is provided, or sending a signed physical copy via speed post. If you made a mistake on a TDS challan payment and have an unused amount for which you've requested a refund, send your application with the refund request number from TRACES and necessary documents via speed post.

I submitted 26B form online for refund for excess Taxes paid. However, it's asking to submit documents to AO. How to submit that? It's says submit within 14 days. Can this be signed and emailed to AO? Or can it be uploaded some portal?

Log in to https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal Go to "e-Proceeding" → "View Notices" If the notice is listed, there should be an option to "Submit Response" and upload documents. Upload scanned copies of the required documents (PDF format).
Sometimes AOs accept documents via email (check if the notice mentions an official email ID).
Physical Submission: Submit a printed copy (with signature) at the AO’s office (get an acknowledgment). Send via speed post.

There are no notices. While making Challan payment for TDS, I paid additional by mistake. There is left over amount in challan which is not used in TDS. I submitted the refund request for the same.
Do I need to send the signed Refund request form? If Yes, How do I send them acknowledgement form? - I stay in another city
