What are the consequences of 142 notice and hearing there of..!!

By attending you will save penalty and can explain the position better.
By not attending Tax + Penalty haev to be paid.
It is always better to attend.

If you do not attend then
1) Penalty for not attending can be imposed u/s 271(1)(b) to the extent of Rs.10,000/- for each notice.
2) You may get assessment order u/s 144 and huge demand can be raised against you.
3) You have to file appeal which also requires filing fee + C.A or advocate's fee.
4) The demand raised u/s 144 order can be recovered by attaching your bank account and the properties
NOW IT IS UP TO YOU TO ATTEND 142 NOTICE
